Ignite Youth

The youth of Normal First are 6-12 graders who desire to live out our faith. 

We:

  • Welcome and affirm all – including LGBTQ individuals, diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Recognize each person is God’s beloved child.
  • Believe God is loving and open.
  • See God in many different ways; pray and worship in a multitude of ways. 
  • Do not allow hate speech. 
  • Respect each other’s opinion.
  • Encourage one another. 
  • Don’t gossip or talk about what is discussed. 
  • Are concerned with social justice issues. 
  • Experience mission trips to learn how God is working in our world. 
  • Have fun – play pool, video games, ping pong, and eat together!

Confirmation

Pastors and members of the youth ministries staff lead weekly faith formation classes for youth in Grades 8 and up. In May, the students are offered the opportunity to make their own commitment as members of the church to accept the costs and joys of Christian discipleship.
