THIS WEEKEND IN WORSHIP July 25 @ 5pm or July 26 @ 9:30am

Parents are trying to study the options and make the best decisions for their families. Students are wondering which friends would be in school the same days they would.

I have been praying for all of these students, parents, teachers and administrators who are making decisions about school this Fall. This feels like just one of the many difficult challenges of this pandemic we are living through.

I have heard from many people that they are feeling an underlying anxiety. Others who were already living with depression or anxiety report that it has gotten worse. Part of the uneasiness is just so much uncertainty constantly swirling around.

How are we to think about all this? What does it mean?

This week in the sermon, I want to talk about “The Meaning & the Mystery of this Pandemic.”

We will look at Job. To prepare for worship, please reflect on Job 38-42.

What is God trying to convey to Job? What does Job learn by boldly engaging in conversation with God?

The Children’s Moment this weekend is titled, “I Can Only Imagine” and will come from the Book of Revelation.

Music in the service includes:

·        Canticle of the Creator – Courtney

·        O Love – Hagenberg

·        God of Wonders

·        God, Who Stretched the Spangled Heavens; and

·        A Postlude played by Dr. Gotkowski that has a long German title and is by Buxtehude.

Next Wednesday we will be back out at the Chapel in the Trees at Funk’s Grove for worship. Bring a chair or sit on one of the log pews. Bring a mask. It is a beautiful setting. Pastor Kim will be leading worship that evening. We will start at 6:30 p.m.

Hope you have a good week.

Stay well. Stay connected.

Pastor Kent
