As we prepare for worship this weekend, I would like you to click on two links. The first is a commercial. I have no idea what it has to do with insurance, but I like it.
This weekend we will start a 3-week worship series called, “The Ripple Effect.” We will think about how our actions, positive and negative, ripple out to make a difference in the world far beyond what we can see.
This week I want to share with you some research suggesting that how we use our time and money directly affects our happiness and contentment in life. I will also suggest that our minds can be pretty bad at predicting what will make us happy and content. Investing in a fulfilled life can quite often be counter intuitive.
It is, of course, vitally important.
I also want us to think about what Jesus says about generosity and the meaning of life.
There are some crucially important ways of living that we need to be practicing, and teaching the generations that follow us.
For the second link, please also take a look at this message from one of our church members, Kathy Alexander.
Two other notes for this weekend.
**ISU student named Luis Solis will be playing a couple of wonderful pieces on the piano at the 9:30 worship service. Luis is a senior in piano performance.
**Tiffany Ogdon Smith begins her work this weekend leading the music at the 11:00 service.
I look forward to worshipping with you this weekend!
