Once again, NPR had an interesting story on that I thought, “I can incorporate that in my sermon.” It was titled Is There a New American Dream: One Former Journalist Moved Into a Van

The couple moved into a van that they customized to be “home” for the next several months and they spent their time crisscrossing the country to meet people and learn about their lives. It seems that there is a growing number of people who aren’t necessarily shooting for the American dream of success and independence. But instead they are working towards community and mutual support.

This weekend, we begin a 5-week series titled Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. The material comes from the work of Adam Hamilton, pastor of The Church of the Resurrection. This weekend, we begin with the theme of “When Dreams Become Nightmares.”

Matthew 13:1-9, 22

Many thanks to Laurie Fuller who will be leading worship on Saturday evening. We’ll be blessed to have our children singing in the 9:30 service.

See you in worship,
