Our Church takes pride in being a welcoming church What does it mean, though, to be a church where people of all races feel welcome? What can we do to make sure we are as welcoming as we can be?

This Sunday at the 9:30 and 11:00 worship services, we will have a guest preacher. Danielle Harrison is a diversity consultant. She works with churches and religious institutions to help them evaluate where they are, and how they can get to where they want to be. I am looking forward to hearing what she has to offer us this weekend.

We will focus on two Scriptures at these services: Matthew 15:21-28 and Ruth 1:15-19 and Ruth 4:13-17.

Pastor Kathy will be preaching at our Saturday 5:00 p.m. service this weekend. The service will focus on the Scriptures from Galatians 3:23-29 and Luke 19:1-10. Jesus coming through town notices Zacchaeus up in the tree. He hollers at him to come down cause Jesus is planning to join Zacchaeus for dinner at his home. For the crowd, this was intolerable. Jesus eating at the home of a sinner.

Once again, Jesus turns the social norms upside down. Those we label on the “outside” may really be on the “inside” when it comes to the Kingdom of God.
