What are your favorite Christmas movies? One of my favorites is The Grinch. That old Grinch is so mean and nasty, and yet he reminds us of people we have known. If we are being really honest, he reminds us a bit of ourselves in some moments. And yet, he cannot steal the joy of Christmas from the Whos down in Whoville.
What is joy?
Are you feeling joy this Christmas season? It does seem like there are forces that work to steal our joy.
This weekend in worship, I want to argue that Christians are supposed to feel joy. God wants your life to have Joy.
We will look at some Scriptures like this one from John 15:11: Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you so that My Joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”
How will you discover more joy in your life this season?
In Luke 1:46-55 Mary, the mother of Jesus, sings a song of joy. We will ask how this young peasant girl came to experience joy, and what we can learn from her that might help us to get there.
May your life be full of joy!
Speaking of joy, this Sunday at the 9:30 worship service we will welcome Terry and Kelly Dunn (plus Adam and Emma) as they join our church family!
I look forward to worshipping with you.
