During the month of August, we’ll be slowly walking through the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). I hope the few number of verses designated for each day will give you a chance to ponder and reflect on the deeper meaning of these verses.

This weekend in worship, our focus will be specifically on The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12). These are beautiful words, some of which can also leave us pondering.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit . . .”

“Blessed are those who mourn . . .”

These are the times in our lives that probably don’t feel like blessings to us. So what do the scriptures mean when they call us blessed when we’re walking through these times? I hope to offer some thoughts on this and more this weekend.

Look forward to seeing you in worship.
