Domestic Violence Program – April 15 at 1:00pm
Join us after the church-wide pot luck from 1pm-2:30pm in Fellowship Hall for a follow up to the domestic violence presentations shared earlier this year. As part of this event, staff from Mid-Central Community Action will take us through a Domestic Violence Simulation and Debrief. As part of this simulation, you will have the opportunity to build empathy and understanding for those struggling with domestic violence. Following the simulation counselors will be available. Enjoy hearing this female Capella ensemble Sunday April 15 from 9:05am to 9:30am. Beauties and the Beat performs pop, jazz, classical music, and spirituals! Directed by Tracy Koch, the group is composed of exceptionally talented girls between the ages of 13-18 from the Bloomington & Normal community. They will also perform a complete concert here at FUMC, Sunday April 29 at 6pm.

KIDS AND YOUTH SILENT ART AUCTION – April 21st and 22nd (before and after the Children’s Spring Musical: In the Image)
Normal First UMC Lounge. Children and Youth ages 3 to 18 can submit a masterpiece to auction. Why: The Illinois Great Rivers Conference took up the challenge to raise $2.5 million to endow the spiritual life programs at The Baby Fold, Chaddock, Cunningham Children’ home, Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House and Spero Family Services. This campaign is named Our Conference, Our Kids. The proceeds of this auction will go towards financing this vital ministry that transforms the lives of children and youth. The art auction theme is Earth Day/Creation. Attending the Art Workshop on March 3rd will give kids the tools they need. This workshop is not required in order to submit. If your child is interested in submitting a masterpiece but cannot attend the workshop, contact Jill McNiff (firstname.lastname@example.org) for guidelines, instructions or more info.
All Men of the Church Wanted – April 25 at 7:00pm
Why is domestic violence and abuse so prevalent in our communities? What behaviors lead to these kinds of abuses? What can men do to prevent this kind of harm? All men of the church are invited to a conversation. Matt Drat from Mid-Central community Action will be here to lead us in a conversation about domestic violence, abuse and harassment. Beloved Community House Build – May 19 at 8am at Calvary UMC
We and other area UM Churches have joined in this year’s Habitat for Humanity house build. Based on Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s vision for a society of equality.
