Parents Night Out
The FUMC Parents’ Night Out Co-Op is a childcare program for parents in the congregation. In exchange for a low annual family fee and two nights of providing child care, parents receive 10 nights of free child care provided by other co-op parents and paid childcare staff. Children four months through fourth grade may participate.
Trunk or Treat/Chili Cook-Off
This fall event is for families of all ages! Children are invited to “Trunk or Treat” in the parking lot, where families decorate their vehicles and provide treats. Children’s activities are organized inside the building and all are invited to the pot luck featuring chili entries from the church’s Chili Cook-Off. It is a multi-generational event fun for all.
Children are the future of our church! Each November the new children who have joined our church family (birth or adoption) are welcomed into the church family during a Sunday worship service.
All Church First Fest
Early summer is a great time for all members of the congregation to gather in a local park on a Sunday afternoon for food, games, and fellowship. From families with tiny babies to our most senior members, all enjoy this casual fellowship time.
Sunday School is provided for children of all ages on Sunday mornings during the 9:30 worship service and Nursery care is provided for children through age 5 during the 11 am worship service.
Christmas Eve Services
Two services are traditionally held on Christmas Eve, the earlier service has developed as a family service. A children’s
message telling the Christmas story, candles and glow sticks, and lots of familiar Christmas carols are included in the worship service. In addition, the clergy of the church provide individual blessings for all children in the congregation.
Each week during the school year, Wednesdays are special times at FUMC. Families gather for a meal (small offering suggested) at 5:15 pm, with programming for children beginning at 5:45 pm and youth at 6 pm. Adult choir and small groups are also held on Wednesdays.
